FOR BUYERS / SUPPLIER RESEARCH

Find supply that fits the actual requirement.

Cainworth investigates potential manufacturers, producers and service providers against a defined purchasing need. The aim is not a long list of names: it is a clearer understanding of capability, fit, commercial feasibility and what remains unverified.

Discuss this need

01 / PURPOSE

Start with the requirement, not the directory.

A supplier may advertise the right product but still fail on specifications, certifications, capacity, delivery timing or total delivered cost. Research should make those differences visible before a buyer commits time or money.

Our decision rule

A potential supplier is not a verified or approved supplier. Claims are documented as claims until appropriate evidence supports them.

02 / INVESTIGATION & QUALIFICATION

How a candidate becomes a decision.

Specific steps and any commercial fee must be agreed for the actual engagement. This framework describes how we assess the work, not a promise of completed deals.

01

Define the buying need

Clarify scope, non-negotiable requirements, relevant standards and acceptable alternatives.

02

Investigate supply options

Identify possible manufacturers or providers using appropriate public and authorized sources.

03

Qualify evidence

Review capability claims, documents, origin, capacity, references and unresolved questions.

04

Assess economics

Consider quotation assumptions, lead times, transport, compliance, risks and full delivered cost.

05

Decide whether to engage

Present supported candidates, missing evidence and the next permissioned step.

06

Coordinate when authorized

Only after suitable engagement and permissions, support introductions or defined sourcing actions.

03 / USEFUL DISTINCTIONS

Questions buyers often ask

Can Cainworth guarantee that a supplier is suitable?

No. Suitability depends on the exact requirement and satisfactory qualification. Research findings identify what is supported, missing or incompatible.

Do you act as importer, freight company or customs broker?

Not by default. Where relevant, specialist logistics, inspection, insurance, legal or customs providers would need separate assessment and proper engagement.

Can you contact suppliers on our behalf?

Only with a defined scope, appropriate permissions and approval of the proposed contact and disclosure. Public research alone is not a mandate.

Cainworth's role is selective commercial investigation and authorized support. We do not imply legal, brokerage, financial or technical licensing from publication of this page.

Bring us a commercial question worth examining.

Start with a brief description of the need, offer or market situation. We'll first determine whether a suitable scope and responsible parties can be established.
